3 Signs Your Ford Needs a Radiator Repair

Combustion produces a large amount of heat, and the movement of hundreds of engine parts raises the temperature further. To keep your engine running safely and efficiently, you need a cooling system. Your radiator is the centerpiece of the cooling system. In the radiator, engine heat is removed and replaced with cooler air. We'd like you to know some of the signs that you need a radiator repair at your Ford Dealer. Worn Radiator Cap The radiator cap fits on the top of your radiator. This cap controls the pressure in the cooling system and prevents coolant from escaping. The cap fits tightly and has two seals for additional support. Strong seals are essential, as the cooling system is filled with fast-moving and highly pressurized liquid. If the pressure in the system rises, the cap opens to relieve the pressure and then closes again. In time, these seals can crack. A cracked seal will allow pressurized coolant to escape from the radiator. Since coolant is a mix of antifreeze and water, the water in the coolant will cause rust. Rust can quickly eat into your radiator and cause further damage or leaks. A rusted radiator cant is fixed and will have to be replaced. more Coolant Leak Coolant is pumped continually through your cooling system. It absorbs the heat generated by your engine and removes this heat from the radiator. In the radiator, heat is exchanged for cooler outside air via the radiator grille. If your engine lacks coolant, it will be far more difficult to control the temperature. If your engine overheats, this can result in permanent damage to many sensitive engine components. Coolant leaks are usually easy to spot, as coolant is pink, green, yellow, or blue. A puddle in any of these colors means there's a definite leak. The liquid can leak from a crack in the radiator, a hose in a radiator hose, or a worn radiator cap. Regardless of the source of the leak, your engine could be in trouble. Our technicians are experts at repairing radiators, and they will find the cause of the leak. Damaged Water Pump A continual flow of coolant is essential for your engine. Once the engine temperature reaches 185 F, coolant is released into your engine. The flow of the coolant is controlled by the water pump. Once the coolant is released into the cooling system, the pump activates and pushes the liquid through the system at high speed. If the pump fails, coolant will still be released but won't be able to move. Without the flow of coolant, your engine will rapidly start to overheat. We can easily test the pump and replace it if it's damaged. It's easy to see that you have a radiator problem, as the engine temperature gauge will rise. If the temperature doesn't start to fall, it's time to get your radiator checked ASAP. Schedule service at Madison Ford and our Ford-trained technicians will fix it for you.

3 of the Best Breakfast Places Near Madison, VA

Breakfast is probably the most important meal of the day. It provides the energy you need to get through the first part of the day. Without something to eat, you may feel tired or listless, and this makes your day feel like a real drag. In Madison, VA, we enjoy our breakfasts, and even more so if we have the time to savor them at a leisurely pace. These are the three best breakfast places we seek out. My Dog Duke's Diner This is a great breakfast place, as it is so light and airy. They also have outside seating, with planting boxes full of colorful flowers. Best of all, the outside area is dog-friendly, so you can have your companion join you for breakfast. Inside the restaurant has pictures of dogs on the walls and lovely slogans and thoughts about our furry companions. Omelets, eggs, and pancakes feature prominently on the menu as you'd expect them to. We like their sunrise skillet with onions, peppers, bacon, sausage, or vegetables, home fries, and then topped with fresh cheddar. For a lighter breakfast choice, the bagel with lox is heavenly. Delicately sliced salmon, with tomatoes, capers, red onion, and cream cheese on a freshly baked bagel. Duke's can be found at 1007 Commerce Street, Lynchburg. Market at Main Another excellent breakfast spot just over a mile away from us, Market opened in 2009 in two late Victorian-style buildings next to each other. The owner wanted to return the buildings to their original glory. Renovations turned the two buildings into a 1920s-style general store and eating place. The iron patina light fittings and interior tin ceiling panels add a pleasant ambiance. more If you like egg dishes, we recommend the Chesapeake eggs, with split English muffins topped with crab cakes, poached eggs, and their delicious homemade hollandaise sauce on top. If you're feeling hungry, the chicken and waffles are made with their signature fluffy waffle topped with crispy chicken and served with two sides. Market is located at 904 Main Street, Lynchburg. Texas Inn This inn is the oldest diner in Lynchburg, as it was founded in 1935 and is still going strong today. The interior looks like an authentic Texas diner from the 1920s/1930s, with white-painted exposed brick walls, red leather counter seating, and a polished metal counter. They are small, as only about 15 people can fit inside. This coziness makes your breakfast time even more social. Their menu features traditional country-style breakfast items like biscuits and sausage gravy and country ham, cheese, and eggs. We like the Texas plate, with two eggs, choice of bacon, ham, or sausage, grits, oatmeal, and potatoes and toast or biscuits. Does Your Ford Need a Transmission Repair?

Your transmission is probably the hardest working part of your Ford. It's responsible for translating the chaotic power from your engine into a manageable form. It does this utilizing gears, which harness and control the power produced by your engine. Even though the transmission is very tough, it can suffer damage and need repairs. As your local Ford dealer, we're experts on transmissions. These are some of the signs to visit us for a transmission repair. Do You Need a Transmission Repair at Your Ford Dealer in Madison, VA? Jerking and Grinding Sounds One of the earliest signs of a transmission problem is a slight hesitation between the gear shifting and the gear taking effect. This is particular to automatic transmissions. If the transmission isn't checked, the problem will become more acute. You'll start to feel a jerking or shaking from the transmission. One of the main causes is a lack of transmission fluid. This fluid fills the transmission and provides hydraulic power that makes gear shifting easier. A manual transmission produces harsher grinding sounds, which grow worse over time. Again, one of the most common reasons for this behavior is a lack of fluid. Transmission fluid also helps to lubricate all the parts in the transmission. Without this fluid, gears will grind against each other when you shift gears. This can lead to worn or damaged gear teeth. We advise visiting our service department right away so we can find the cause of the problem. more Transmission Fluid Leak Transmission fluid is vital to keeping your transmission running effectively. Without it, your transmission can very quickly get too hot, and it can seize up. The reason for this is the transmission is a very hot place. There are hundreds of moving parts, many of which depend on friction to work correctly. Without enough lubrication, heat damage is a very real possibility. Transmission fluid is bright red, although it turns darker over time. It absorbs dirt, clutch debris, and other contaminants in the transmission as it circulates. This debris will eventually slow down the fluid and reduce its heat-resistant properties. Without these properties, the transmission fluid can start to burn. If you find a puddle of transmission fluid, note the color and call us right away. Our technicians will fix the problem. Gears Won't Shift A transmission that suddenly goes dead is a frightening experience. In this case, your gears won't shift in an automatic transmission, and in a manual transmission, you cant move the gear shift. There are several different reasons for this odd behavior, including a malfunctioning sensor, a faulty solenoid, or a clogged transmission filter. Another possibility is a fault with your cars' computer, which can "switch off" your automatic transmission. Transmission problems have an undeserved reputation for being expensive. If you're experiencing problems with your transmission, the warning signs are always very obvious. Transmissions can only suffer serious damage if these warning signs are ignored. Call our service center right away at Madison Ford, and we'll fix your transmission ASAP.

Shades such as Alto Blue Metallic, Hot Pepper Red, and Area 51 make sure you'll never have a hard time finding your vehicle in the parking lot. Trim Levels This year's Bronco Sport offers four trim levels. Levels range from the base trim, which is perfect for those who want to off-road occasionally, to the Badlands trim, which was created with endless hours on the trail in mind. The Base Trim Starting at $28,165, the base level Bronco Sport shouldn't be overlooked. Four-wheel drive is standard, and the flip-up rear window makes stowing equipment for outdoor sports a breeze. In addition, many of Ford's best safety features are included, such as pre-collision assist, rearview camera, and blind-spot information system. Big Bend Trim For those looking to add extras that make outdoor adventures more convenient, the Big Bend trim can scratch the itch without breaking the bank. $29,980 is the starting point for this trim. Features such as two adjustable floodlights mounted in the liftgate, MOLLE straps for efficient storage, and durable, easy-care seat upholstery provide practical conveniences on your excursions. Outer Banks Trim This trim level begins at $33,730, a minimal price increase for the luxuries included. Lether-trimmed heated front seats make cool weather drives a joy, and for those after true decadence, a leather-wrapped heating steering wheel can be added. Remote start is standard at this trim level, and the FordPass application allows you to start your vehicle from afar and control temperature settings. The BadLands Trim Time to buckle up, since Ford never hit the brakes when choosing what features to add to the BadLands trim. For the starting price of $34,590, drivers can expect a 2.0L Ecoboost Engine with automatic stop and start technology. In addition, this trim boasts a 4x4 capability system and a twin-clutch rear-drive unit. Also, The Terrain Management System ensures no obstacle goes unconquered by allowing you to adjust your vehicle's driving mode. When you drive a Bronco Sport, you'll never back down from an adventure. Once you test drive this year's Bronco Sport, you'll realize what other SUVs have been missing.
