Get to Know the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport

When the Broncos drove off the assembly lines in 1965, Ford touted them as the world's first sport-utility vehicle. Drivers looking for a scrappy off-roading ride loved their stylish design and powerful performance. Following in its predecessor's tire tracks, the compact and practical 2022 Ford Bronco Sport is just as much of a crowd-pleaser. Here's what you need to know about the 2022 Bronco Sport.

Basics About the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport

2022's Bronco is the sixth generation of the iconic off-road machine. Ford paused production of the Bronco for 25-years and brought it back better than ever, offering the traditional Bronco and the Bronco Sport. The Bronco Sport is classed as a mid-size SUV, with four doors and five seats. The base model of the Bronco Sport starts at around $28,000. Drivers can choose the standard 1.5-liter Ecoboost engine, which provides 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft torque, or upgrade to the 2.0-liter Eco-boost engine with 250 horsepower and 277lb-ft torque. Compared to the standard Bronco, the Sport provides extra legroom for backseat passengers and offers a roomy 36.9-inches of space.

New Features

Drivers looking for an SUV that's as flashy on the road as off of it will be excited by the new paint colors available for the Bronco Sport. With ten stunning colors to choose from, it's easy to drive a Bronco Sport as unique as you. Shades such as Alto Blue Metallic, Hot Pepper Red, and Area 51 make sure you'll never have a hard time finding your vehicle in the parking lot.

Trim Levels

This year's Bronco Sport offers four trim levels. Levels range from the base trim, which is perfect for those who want to off-road occasionally, to the Badlands trim, which was created with endless hours on the trail in mind.

The Base Trim

Starting at $28,165, the base level Bronco Sport shouldn't be overlooked. Four-wheel drive is standard, and the flip-up rear window makes stowing equipment for outdoor sports a breeze. In addition, many of Ford's best safety features are included, such as pre-collision assist, rearview camera, and blind-spot information system.

Big Bend Trim

For those looking to add extras that make outdoor adventures more convenient, the Big Bend trim can scratch the itch without breaking the bank. $29,980 is the starting point for this trim. Features such as two adjustable floodlights mounted in the liftgate, MOLLE straps for efficient storage, and durable, easy-care seat upholstery provide practical conveniences on your excursions.

Outer Banks Trim

This trim level begins at $33,730, a minimal price increase for the luxuries included. Lether-trimmed heated front seats make cool weather drives a joy, and for those after true decadence, a leather-wrapped heating steering wheel can be added. Remote start is standard at this trim level, and the FordPass application allows you to start your vehicle from afar and control temperature settings.

The BadLands Trim

Time to buckle up, since Ford never hit the brakes when choosing what features to add to the BadLands trim. For the starting price of $34,590, drivers can expect a 2.0L Ecoboost Engine with automatic stop and start technology. In addition, this trim boasts a 4x4 capability system and a twin-clutch rear-drive unit. Also, The Terrain Management System ensures no obstacle goes unconquered by allowing you to adjust your vehicle's driving mode. When you drive a Bronco Sport, you'll never back down from an adventure. Once you test drive this year's Bronco Sport, you'll realize what other SUVs have been missing.
