What’s Included in Ford Co-Pilot360?

As technology advances at an exponential rate, there arise more and more opportunities to enhance driver and passenger safety. Ford Co-Pilot360 systems help you avoid obstacles, protect yourself and your riders from collisions, and navigate the road with confidence. Read on to explore some of the many unique features that make up the Ford Co-Pilot360 safety suite.

What’s Included in Ford Co-Pilot360?

1. BlueCruise

BlueCruise technology builds on intelligent adaptive cruise control systems with stop-and-go, lane centering, and speed sign recognition capabilities. With this feature, you can operate your vehicle hands-free while a driver-facing camera monitors you to ensure you're focusing on the road. BlueCruise is compatible with Hands-Free Blue Zones, prequalified sections of divided highways. These areas comprise over 100,000 miles of North American roads.

2. Blind Spot Information System

We all have our blind spots, but the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) can help. This feature detects and alerts you of cars in your blind spot, enabling you to change lanes with ease, even on crowded freeways. In addition, the Cross-Traffic Alert element helps you check if there are cars behind you if you're backing out of a parking spot or driveway.

3. Lane-Keeping System

While we try to stay in the center of the lane we're in, we're not always perfect at it. The Lane-Keeping System in the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite scans your vehicle's position between the lines of the road ahead and alerts you if you start to drift, helping you stay in your lane. It even shows a coffee cup icon if you've drifted one too many times, encouraging you to take a break. We're only human, after all.

4. Automatic Emergency Braking

When something unexpected happens, our reaction times can only be so fast. That's why it's so useful to have Pre-collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking. This feature scans the road ahead and alerts you to potential collisions with vehicles, pedestrians, or other hazards. And, just like a seatbelt or an airbag, if impact becomes imminent and you haven't taken action yet, the brakes can apply automatically.

5. Rear View Camera

It can be hard to see behind you when you're backing up, but the Ford Co-Pilot360's Rear View Camera can make it easier. This gadget gives you extra visibility to check if there are any people, cars, or obstacles behind your vehicle. Especially in inclement weather, be sure to keep the camera lens free of debris like snow or dust so you can maintain a clear view.

6. Active Park Assist

Many of us know how challenging it can be to park in a tight street spot, but Active Park Assist makes it easy. Just brake to a complete stop, shift into neutral, and press and hold the Active Park Assist button. Your vehicle will then automatically maneuver into the parallel or reverse perpendicular spot. When technology helps us with the mundane activities of daily life, we can focus on what really matters, like spending time with our family and friends and pursuing our favorite hobbies. The Ford Co-Pilot360 safety suite makes it easier for you to navigate busy roads and get to your destination efficiently, all while enjoying your journey along the way. Stop by Madison Ford today.
